promising now i have a coat from abercrombie kids that is a size large. if i get a new film from A&F or Hollister, what size should i get if i want the same fit(in coats)?

Well...from abercrombie kids i am a mid-point in everything.
And from abercrombie & fitch, i am an XS
So i'd go a couple sizes smaller upstanding to be on the safe side. It depends on how well the large fits you.
